2nd AFC Soccer Camp Date Set!

July 28th to August 1st
~ evenings ~

AFC held it's first program wide camp in 2013 and look to bring it back this Summer with some new features.  Over 100 players participated in last years camp, where players trained with their teams over the week - receiving a different coach each night.  Sessions will be run by licensed AFC coaches as well as local guest & high school coaches.  Tiki Ice will return to provide after training treats! This will be an evening camp available only to AFC players - with more details coming.

Team Highlight
Newly Formed AFC Xtreme (U13 Boys) Open Season 4-0

AFC - 3   Parkville - 2

GAME 4 Highlights:

AFC XTreme does it again.  This was our toughest battle yet.  The Parkville team was very skilled and had a lot of experience as they have been playing together for a while.  We came into the game with a different game plan designed to help us match up better with the more experienced team.  The boys changed their style a bit and implemented the new tactics.  Amiri fed a beautiful over-lapping pass to Maxwell who beat the defender and rocketed the shot into the lower left corner to give us a 1-0 lead early in the game.  Tommy scored on a loose ball inside the box to make it 2-0 by halftime.  During the second half Parkville came on strong and scored on a nice volley to make it 2-1.  Amiri scored on a break-a-way to make it 3-1.  Parkville pushed everybody up and scored to make it 3-2 with minutes remaining.  Our defense held them off to seal the victory 3-2.  Our midfield and defense worked very hard to keep us in control by constantly maintaining possession of the ball.  In the end we had too much depth and kept subbing every 7 minutes to run them into the ground.  It was a great effort by all and the kids were exhausted by the end of the game.  This team was in second place so it helped us to extend our lead in first place.  We are looking forward to our first tournament coming up on Columbus Day weekend.
