AFC 2007 Girls “Copa” will be a new U11 team for the upcoming 2017 Fall season. There will be some open training sessions available this Spring for any girls interested in learning more about the team and getting to know the coaches. Please email coach Steve Sherwood (s.m.sherwoodbandit@gmail.com) if interested.
AFC Copa Team Details: Some of the hardest decisions as a parent of a youth soccer player is "when do I make the move from Rec to Club", and "is my child ready to make the move from Rec to Club". Both excellent questions and 99% of parents go through this at some point so you're not along in this process. Club soccer has more dedicated players that travel to local and national tournaments to compete as higher levels of soccer. The coaching staff has typically played at a competitive high school or college soccer level and they have a wealth of knowledge to share with the younger players when it comes to player development.
2007 Girls AFC Copa: AFC COPA is a "brand new" girls team that is in the process of putting it's roster together right now for the 2017 Fall soccer season.
We are looking for girls that are coming from the rec programs that have "out grown" that level of play or are looking for something more competitive on a daily basis. If your daughter/athlete has a passion for the game that you don't see in other players on her Rec team, then that's a good sign she is ready to move up to the "club soccer circuit". If your daughter/athlete already has a year or more of club soccer experience and you are looking for a new team and place where your daughter can grow and learn with players in a competitive family atmosphere, then you're at the right place!
